In 2010 I started to work on a series called “Baby Blues”. The reaction to this work was unexpected. Responses where immediate and gave to my work further meaning. I understood how personal photographic essays can become an important journalistic theme and therefore be shared by many. "Under Pressure" is the provisional title of my new series. As for now this series is stored in my mind.
The idea is to describe women in contemporary society, with their neuroses and conflicts but with a twist, representing themes involving women identity. Photography is a source of inspiration and as it occurred for my previous series, which framed articles on several women international magazines, I would like to spur your imagination.
Crowdfunding is about sharing ideas and connecting, making a collective effort more inspiring and powerful than what a single person could achieve. For the realization of my campaign I chose Emphas.is. Emphas.is is a platform that offers a unique bond between photojournalists and their audience, and in the process aims to create a new financial model for photojournalism in the 21st century.
You will be able to make pledges to help support this project. The money raised will go towards materials, models, props, lightning, location and post-production. If the campaign goes over its funding goal, I already have lots of ideas for extending the work.
So what can you do to be part of this? If you were planning to go for a drink tonight, you could listen to some music instead and back me with this drink . If you’d rather have the drink, share the campaign with people you are connected with on Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter or google+. Remember to link to the campaign page! Write an e-mail to your contacts explaining why you think UNDER PRESSURE is worth a backer and don’t forget they will get something in return. Just let them know why you’d like this project to happen, in your own words.
A deep and heartfelt “Thank you”!
